Procedure for Submitting Work for Review & Inclusion in the Artists Archives of the Taylor Museum
Curators for the Taylor Museum invite artists to submit materials for review and inclusion in the Artists Archives. The Artists' Archive is a fundamental research tool of the Curatorial Office. Inclusion in this Archive is essential for consideration for potential future projects. Artists can add to their files at any time and are encouraged to do so.
Submitted materials are generally reviewed two times per year.
The Curatorial Office will acknowledge review of work by mail or email, once reviewed. Materials must be sent by mail or dropped off in person at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center box office at 30 West Dale Street. We appreciate your understanding that the Taylor Museum receives a tremendous amount of material from around the world each day, and it is impossible for curators to meet personally with all artists. Due to the tremendous volume of material submitted, artists should not request appointments. Be sure to include all contact information so that the Curatorial Office can contact artists as required.
The Taylor Museum cannot be held responsible for original materials; please submit only duplicates, to the attention of the Curatorial Office. All submitted materials become the property of the Taylor Museum Artists Archives. We recommend including the following, as applicable:
1) A resume
2) Color xeroxes, slides, or a disk of jpegs
3) A statement about your work
4) Catalogs, clippings, or invitations (as applicable)
The Taylor Museum generally rotates temporary exhibitions five times each year, while planning two to five years into the future.
