Impressionist and Modern Masters from the New Orleans Museum of Art

Wednesdays, Jan. 30 - March 19 • 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.

Presented by Blake Milteer, FAC Curator of 19th to 21st Century American Art.
When the Impressionists chose to create very personalized visions of everyday life rather than depicting more traditional subjects of history, religion, or mythology, they helped to transform the history of art forever. Impressionist paintings are now considered among the building blocks of Modern art.
Class meets in the Screening Room for lectures and in the galleries to look at the art.

Teacher In-service Training:
Impressionist and Modern Masters from the New Orleans Museum of Art

Thursday, Feb. 7 • 5:30 - 9:30 p.m.

This session includes a visit to the Impressionist and Modern Masters exhibition at the newly renovated Fine Arts Center, a review and discussion of the exhibition, and classroom field trip information. Instruction and classroom lesson plans will be provided by a Colorado State Licensed professional teacher certified in Art K-12.

FAC Members $58; Non-members $65. Advance registration required.

Teacher Training in-service workshops are available to public, private, homeschool and studio teachers. In-service training will provide teachers an opportunity to test lesson plans in the Bemis School of Art studios. Folding Chair Lecture:
Impressionist and Modern Masters from the New Orleans Museum of Art

Thursday, Feb. 28 • 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Learn about art and history through the study of beautiful paintings from the 17th and 18th centuries, works by Impressionists and Post-Impressionists Claude Monet and Paul Gauguin from the late 19th century, and modern representations from the mid-20th century represented by Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Jackson Pollock and Joan Miró.
